Stronger connections for the Northern Netherlands
Duocast Connect+ is our initiative to better connect the Northern Netherlands with the west of the country. This creates significant opportunities for both economic and societal growth in the region. With this new capacity, Groningen has become a highly attractive alternative — offering available resources and exceptional connection potential.
High technical standards and DWDM optical technology
For this connection, we partnered with Nokia, who supplied the latest-generation hardware. The route runs across the trusted fibre infrastructure of Relined. Its high technical quality and DWDM lighting technology ensure guaranteed bandwidth and ultra-low latency. Duocast Connect+ offers a unique combination of immediately available capacity, competitive pricing, and scalable bandwidth. Fabian Labohm adds: “High-capacity links outside the Randstad were already available, but often as costly, custom-built solutions with long lead times and high latency. Duocast Connect+ is an affordable alternative — without compromising on speed, redundancy, or performance.”
Rollout in 2025
The rollout of Duocast Connect+ is taking place in multiple phases. It began in late 2024, with key data centres already connected to the fibre route — including QTS and NorthC in Groningen, Equinix AM7 in Amsterdam, DCF2 in Leeuwarden, and Cellnex in Lelystad. In 2025, phase two will follow, including further expansion toward a total capacity of 32 terabits per second.
