The AI Factory
In Groningen, construction has started on the AI Factory, a national centre where companies, researchers and governments will soon work together on the development and application of artificial intelligence. The initiative combines computing power with knowledge and practice across sectors such as healthcare, energy and mobility. This makes the Northern Netherlands a key building block in the digital future of the Netherlands.
The Cloud of the North
More than 200 northern organizations collaborate within the Cloud of the North, working towards a sovereign and sustainable digital cloud and infrastructure. It brings together technical companies building hardware, legal experts, and organizations developing their own independent cloud environments. By sharing knowledge and capacity, the region creates a network that combines reliability and efficiency, while remaining independent from major non-European tech providers.
Duocast Connect+
Between Groningen and Amsterdam, Duocast Connect+ provides the most powerful, directly available fiber connection in the Northern Netherlands. Two fully separated routes, low in latency and designed for the continuous transport of large data volumes. Built with the latest European technology, this connection is ready for the AI-driven future and other data-intensive services that simply cannot afford downtime.
